About Joseph Oppenheimer R.P.

Joseph Oppenheimer was born in Würzburg Germany July 13th 1876. From an early age his whole life was art. At 15, before being old enough to enroll in the Munich Academy of Art, he left school and began studying art with some of the foremost German painters such as Fehr. Perhaps the impetus for this was his chance meeting with The Iron Chancellor, Otto von Bismarck, at the age on 14 when they both stayed at the same spa hotel in Bad Kissingen.

About Eva Prager O.C.

Eva Prager was born on October 9th 1912 and died in Montreal on June 24th 2010. She was born in Berlin, Germany, the only daughter of the famous artist Joseph Oppenheimer R.P. and his wife Fanny. She started painting and drawing as a small child and was considered very gifted – she always said she only passed each school year on the strength of her artistic ability!
